Understanding Your Salary Deductions in the Philippines

Mandatory Contributions

SSS (Social Security System)

The SSS contribution is based on your monthly salary credit (MSC) with a maximum of ₱30,000. Employee contribution rate is 4.5% while employer contributes 9.5%, totaling 14% of your MSC.

PhilHealth

PhilHealth premium rate is 5% of your monthly basic salary, shared equally (2.5% employee, 2.5% employer). The minimum salary bracket is ₱10,000 and the maximum is ₱100,000.

Pag-IBIG (HDMF)

Pag-IBIG contribution is 1% for employees earning ₱1,500 or less, and 2% for those earning above ₱1,500. The employer contributes 2%. Maximum contribution is ₱100 per month.

Withholding Tax

Based on the TRAIN Law tax table, with rates ranging from 0% to 35% depending on your annual taxable income. The first ₱250,000 of annual income is tax-exempt.
